My name is Elizabeth, a marketing student and I am currently a Marketing & Social Media intern at Jameo. Today, I want to take time to explain to you what benefits my internship brings me and continues to bring me with the help of a few important points.
To be honest, when I first came in as an intern, I didn’t necessarily have a lot of experience in the marketing field. However, in my opinion, I had the chance to explore almost all of its facets while learning a lot of new things. It’s a job position that allows you to work on so many things, from content creation to data analysis. I learned how to be autonomous and work in a team at the same time, how to create advertisements and campaigns, manage a website, adopt a certain tone when writing and so much more! In my opinion, I was given a lot of freedom so that I could do my job, but still be curious and that is what allowed me to develop myself more.
Do you want to take a few days to go somewhere and change the atmosphere or a few more weeks to travel? No problem!
With Jameo, I was able to make the most of my summer while learning throughout the internship. Whether it was to go to a lake house, to the United States and even to the Dominican Republic, all i had to do was bring my computer with me and make sur I had an internet connection. Let me tell you, getting the job done with the fresh sea air and your feet in the send is a different experience!
In addition to not work on Fridays, the company lets its employees manage their working hours (with a little mix of a few fixed meetings) so that it can give them time for themselves.
Imagine that on a Tuesday early afternoon, the weather is very good. Why not take a break from work to take advantage of that and come back later to continue. Who would say no to that? This working method allowed me to be much more productive (and even some hiking in the meantime.)
On my first day, I was warmly welcomed by the whole team. I had the privilege to do virtual one-on-one sessions with all of the members and learn more about them, their role within the company as well as the background. I was pleasantly surprised by how open everyone was; I was told not to hesitate to write to them if I had questions or if I wanted to deepen an element, and this, even if it was not in the marketing branch. Throughout the internship, I was able to discover an extraordinary team, but above all, on whom we can count on!
Although the work is remotely done, the team manages to stay in touche, whether it is the daily, virtual meetings in which the whole team comes together to talk about everything and anything, the get togethers to simply eat or team retreats for a few days that are way too fun!
